Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police (PREP)

So its been a while since i've updated this blog and i have no valid reason for this behaviour, other than that i've been extremely busy. Now, the program that im in at Fleming College is Police Foundations and as a requirement we must complete the PREP Test. This involves three things
1. Pursuit/Restraint Circuit
This must be completed in under 2min. and i can't remember the seconds.
2. Aerobic Shuttle Run
This is otherwise known as the beep-test, done right after the pursuit circuit. in order to recieve full marks you must reach level 11, which is 110 laps.
3. PAR-Q & You / PARmed-X .
This is a manditory test which you have to pass!!! so naturally im a little nervous considering on top of it all your being timed. Of course we've been training for it all semester but i am still a little nervous, also if i pass this will qualify me to be able to apply for a job!!! i guess you could say the pressure is on. But ya, this is what i have been up to for the past little bit, thought i would keep everyone in touch...wish me luck..

RUGBY WRAPS UP SUCCESSFUL FALL SEASON

After plenty of jaw-dropping plays and bone-cracking hits, the OCAA Men’s Rugby regular season has come to an end. Once again the OCAA defending champion Seneca Sting (North York) are on top of the standings with a perfect 6-0 record. The Fleming Knights (Peterborough) find themselves in second place with a 4-1-1 record followed closely by the third place Conestoga Condors (Kitchener) who finished the season at 4-2. Rounding out the top-four are the Humber Hawks (Etobicoke) with a 3-3 record. The Championships are set to take place on October 29-30 at Mohawk Sports Park in Hamilton, ON. Wish me luck, we're goin' for gold!!!

The Parents 25th Anniversary Palooza!!

Come one come all to Steve and Cindy's party...and yes they did, for the first 45 minutes of my parents party i was on parking detail with my friend clayton. Now im not one to complain but, do you know what really grinds my gears, that fact that no one let me valle park thier cars.....thats bull crap, i asked at least 15 cars for the free of charge service and i got nothin'...People just laughted at me and said "yea...right". I think this is due to to many factors.
1. my roughian good looks, so what, i had my collar up and a 4 day scruff goin on...big deal that doesn't mean im gonna reack your car.
2. i was wearing socks and sandles, i dont care what people think or say...its comfortable and i like it..
3. so what if i was eating while i was talking to people and had crums on my shirt...i was hungry ok, cant a guy eat some crackers and cheese without getting put down in this world...
and i dont care if my plan was to turn up all the sterios in the cars really loud if they did let me drive......they didn't know that,
their reasons were in my oppinion lukeotyping...similar to steriotyping just mainly directed towards me...and thats all i got..sorry for the the spelling mistakes...

Jesus has got my back...

During this past summer i had this urge to get a tattoo. I had always wanted one when i was younger and i just decided to go through with it this year. The toughest part of the process is definitly finding what you want to get. Everyone always says to be careful, to make sure you wont regret it, and also to get something that means something to you. And i totally agree!!! It took me a solid 3 months to find what i wanted. It first started out being just a regular cross, then it turned into this big dramatic roman cross with gealic writting underneith it. Anyways in the end it turned out to be Jesus, and I must say I've never been happier. I have gotten so many random comments about it that really support and respect it. Even this one guy on my rugby team who is completely against Christianity told me how he respects how i can show what i believe in so publicly. So ya thats my rant for the day, i just finally got pictures of it and wanted to show everyone so.....everyone should get a tattoo!!!!

Why oh Why Did I Miss The Rookie Party??

Im sure everyone has heard of rookie parties for team sports. Well i missed mine for good reasons, still i could not escape the rath of the vets...To explain my story i have pictures to illustrate the brutality i had to endure. Heres what Happened. On the way home from our game in Toronto last week I was called to the back of the bus for punishment for missing the rookie party. When i reached the back I was told that i was going to run the gauntlet.... Now for those of you who dont know what this is...let me explain...this is where someone strips down naked and walks down the aisle of the bus while everyone gets free body slaps, punches, hits, gloves on you as much as they want. So this is what i did. I highly recomend You never do this, trust me it hurts.

Fleming Knights vs. Humber Hawks: Where has sportsmanship gone?

OH YA!!! this past game has had to have been the toughest one yet , and although we did win 10-8, the victory was not pretty....From the start of the game right through to the end there were fights every 5 minutes, cheap shots every 2 min., and verbal abuse every second. Now im used to most of this but just not this much. For instance, after each scrum their Hooker would give me a quick jab to the side of the face, now i didn't really care cause it happens all the time in our league, but then he started throwing elbows and knees into my face, so as a result we had a little tussle. This continued all game with all the players, giving guys on our team 1 severe concussion resulting in memory loss of the entire game, a split cheek bone resulting in stiches, 1 dislocated shoulder and a sprained ankle. Gotta love the game!!! Anyways the point of me telling you all this is i was wondering WHERE HAS SPORTSMANSHIP GONE?? It just seems to me that sports lately are loosing alot of their respect for the actual game. I understand rugby is a contact sport and injuries will happen but more than half the injuries of the day were because of fights relating to personal matters..I personally think its stupid, I mean i did end up in a little fight myslef but the guy pushed for it like he wanted to fight, i just wanted to play. But ya send me your views.
